			* AMP Footnote: These were sons of Jacob who came to Jerusalem to offer at the temple, where they were (rightly or wrongly) identified as rebels against the Romans who had plans to overthrow Roman domination. The notion that their own blood was mixed with that of the sacrifice, suggests that they were made to pay for their sins themselves, since is the sacrifice not the substitute for the claim that is against the sinners own life? The sinner has sinned and the price to pay is death. Now for the sin against Elohim, they paid with sacrifice, but for the sin against the Romans, Pilatus accepted no substitute, they paid with their own blood.

			* Note also [[Honor of the Elect\|Yahushua's interpretation of the sinful condition]]. He compares the sick man with an ass or an ox (the AMP states a son or an ox) that fell into a pit. The question as to why the accident happened is not discussed, but the fact that the situation needs to be remedied by rescue / pulling him out, even on a sabbath day.
			* The Church leads us into the pit. The Doctor is the one we cry to for help. Yahushua is the one we ignore.
